Telephone Consulting Service

From Monday 8 March 2021 The Avenue Surgery is working in partnership with Practice Plus Group (formerly Care UK).

Practice Plus Group will provide a telephone consulting service. Patients will call the The Avenue Surgery. Their telephone number will be taken and a Practice Plus Group GP will call the patient back. If the problem can be managed over the telephone the GP will do so. However if the problem requires a face to face appointment the Practice Plus GP will request a call back from a doctor at The Avenue Surgery the same day. If the Practice Plus Group doctor considers that urgent attention is required and it is later in the day they will pass the details to the out of hours provider to manage the case.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a Practice Nurse rather than a Doctor. Practice Nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Interpreting Services

Should your knowledge of English be limited, Sussex Interpreting Services and Vandu Language Services provide face to face interpreting for our patients.  Language Line provides an overseas language telephone interpreting service.  Action for Deafness provides British Sign Language interpreting for patients who are deaf or hearing impaired.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
